I have a sales coach that supports me, helping to analyze my actions during the sales process. It's very focused on what we are doing now and what we should do next. But I just realized that I should know what has worked best in the past and what has not worked. I can sit down and write out what went right on the project I won, what went wrong on those same deals and then I can write out what went wrong on the deals I lost (most everything...) but won't that yield an entirely biased list?

So, I started to think about every time I call on my customers, asking them questions on their progress, their roadblocks, their strategies. Everyone of them loves to talk about the product, their project and how things are progressing. So this is where the connection happened.

Now that I personally have a number of customer projects that I have lead the sales effort, it would make the most sense to query those people on how I did. What went right, why they selected my company, what I could have done better. That might also yield a positively biased reaction (we would hope). So, I thought I should include some prospects that didn't select me because of some obvious reasons.

Now, I put together a scenario of how I would contact each customer, introduce my coach and then lead the coach into an assessment interview. All of my customers are from the organizational effectiveness and development space. So, they should get the fact that I want to conduct a peer review using them.

This is the email I laid out.

Dear Customer of Mine,

I am trying to create some development actions and improve my performance (boy, those words sound very familiar). I obviously sell talent management software and certainly feel the need to have my own talent plan. Since you are I have had a close vendor/client relationship that has lasted for quite some time, I was hoping that you might be able to participate in my performance improvement program.

I have been working with a sales coach for quite some time conducting mentoring and coaching sessions. To expand my program, I thought some peer reviews would be of valuable to my coach and allow some different perspectives (I am sure he is tired of hearing my own assessment!) So, I have asked him to contact you (with your permission) to provide some input to about 5 assessment questions that he has created . In respect of your time, this will only take 10 minutes on the phone.

Can I ask him to contact you directly for this short interview session?

Signed,

Jamie

How does that sound?

Here are my set of questions to pose....the question is "Will I gather the information I am looking for, some unbiased third-party opinions of me, my selling process, my attitude and how I compare to others doing the same thing???

1) (FOCUS ON THEM) Overall, how much impact on your final selection did the product have or did the salesperson have? (maybe percentages, maybe preferences)

2) In looking at this buying process, could you describe some best practices that you uncovered that will help you in future buying decisions?

3) (FOCUS ON ME) What did the salesperson do that was particularly effective and helped to differentiate him from his competitor's salespeople? maybe ONE top of mind example that sticks out?

4) Could you describe your experience (in a couple of sentences) in the process of buying a product from Jamie in comparison to other corporate purchase decisions you have been involved with?

5) What could the salesperson have done differently to help you along in the selection process or towards a buying decision?

6) From a best practices standpoint, what could you recommend to the salesperson? maybe doing something better that might have changed the buying process - made your life easier, made things simpler?

7) If you uncovered a colleague with a similar need to the product or service you purchased, how likely would you be to refer that colleague to Jamie?

8) Finally, Would you be willing to give this salesperson a testimonial? written via email or place directly into linked in?

How To Contact Me: email address is jamie@jamiecorn.com

About Me: Resident on Long Island...Software sales consultant, former business owner, & financial consultant who has provided expertise to corporate HR organizations on their Talent Management and Human Capital Management processes and workflows.

Video Marketing - Why It Works

You may have been noticing more and more videos on internet websites lately. People like the convenience of the internet, but also like the ease of watching the information be presented to them. With a video, creators can communicate to their audience on many levels - with visual images, the spoken word, text and music. One video can touch almost everyone because various techniques for learning are being utilized in just one marketing project - hearing about it, visualizing it, and the written word.

There are numerous video sites available for you to get your message out. YouTube and MySpace seem to be leading the pack in popularity, but as a marketer, you want to consider your audience and the demographics of your audience. Following are some of my preferred outlets because the demographics tend to match my products better. There is MetaCafe, Revver, Veoh and Daily Motion. These tend to have a more mature audience. A description that I found for MetaCafe's demographics is: older audience than other large sharing sites, higher viewer education level, U.S. coastal geographic distribution. This is perfect for me, so I would encourage you to do a little homework.

Submitting your video to every site individually can be cumbersome. However, doing each individually would still remain a money-making activity if you are able to reach your market. It is still essentially free advertising. Better still, is the discovery of TubeMogul.com, where you can share your videos in just one step. You will need to register for each individually, but when you have it all set up, you have the capability to download a video one time and have them sent to at least 12 video sites. It allows you to add a title, description, tags, and category settings to your video. Now that is powerful! Currently, the service is free, but there is no telling how long that will last. Either way, this is a great way to capitalize on what available to you as a marketer.

Do you love to market and would like an easy-to-promote product? The smaller and simpler pleasures can bring you just as much joy and feelings of fulfillment as the larger things if you just take the time to pay attention to them. By following these few simple rules, you should be able to fully embrace everything that life can offer you, to lead a mindful and happy life.

1. Savour your food. Take the time to recognise each individual taste and flavour that passes your lips. Don't gobble everything down at once. Register the information that is being sent from your taste buds to your brain. Food is one of the utmost simple pleasures in life that we just take for granted too much.

To read more visit here

Do You Know Why You Always Get What You Have Always Gotten?
Do You Know Why You Have Alway Getton What You Have Always Gotten?
Before we talk about the Law of Expectations can I ask you some questions that this law helps you over come let us call it a Self Assessment questionairre
1. So here is a look into a one hour conversation between me and my client. Here are the questions I ask with understanding or meaning of the question how would you answer them?
1. What do you think are the criticism prevent you from setting goals and achieving them?
2. What would you do if you won a million dollars in the lottery tomorrow?
3. What have you done in life that gave you satisfaction and feeling of importance?
4. What would you attempt if you were guaranteed success?
5. Dose fear of failure prevent you from taking risks?
6. What is your area of excellence, in which my greatest interest an abilities lie?
Goal setting is perhaps the most vital achievement skill of all. If any individual – even a person who has not achieved a high level before – becomes a goal setter and writes, thinks and talks about his goals on an ongoing basis, is levels of performance and achievement improve dramatically almost immediately. When we set goals, we develop direction, we develop focused and channeled energy, and we accomplish more in a short time than we could accomplish in years. Do you have someone to help you reach this?
Get Clear on What You Want
The number one reason most people don’t get what they want is that they don’t know what they want. Clarity is power. To read more visit here

Internet Business or better know as Dot-com company

A Internet Business or Dot-com company, or simply a dot-com, is a company which does most of its business on the Internet, usually through a website that uses the popular top-level domain, ".com" (in turn derived from the word "commercial"). During the stock market crash ending the Dot-com bubble, many failed and failing companies became known as dot-bombs, dot-cons, dot-composts or dot-gones.

While dot-com can refer to present day companies, it is also used specifically to refer to companies with this business model during the late 1990s. Many of these startups formed to take advantage of the surplus of venture capital funding. Many were launched with very thin business plans, sometimes with nothing more than an idea and a catchy name. The stated goal was often to "get big fast" i.e. capture a majority share of whatever market was being entered. The exit strategy usually included an IPO and a large payoff for the founders.

Others were existing companies that re-styled themselves as Internet companies, many of them legally changing their names to incorporate a .com suffix.

After the crash, many of the surviving firms dropped the .com from their names.
There are a couple of ways to do business and make money with the internet. They are emphasized in the three C’s, which stand for Commerce, Content and Connection. Commerce is about selling products over the internet, like Amazon.com does. Content refers to placing content on the internet, varying from news headlines to blogs. Some examples are BBC News and Facebook. Lastly you can do business by supplying an internet connection, like AOL, one of the largest internet service providers (ISP) in the US.

Some companies, like Google, Microsoft and AOL, offer all three of them, which gives them an advantage on their competitors. This combination should be a success formula according to some information specialists. to read more visit here

Is Your Coaching Platform Tuned for Success in a Recession?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kXl0zqCQJAM/SBqItqbjBpI/AAAAAAAAADQ/FrwoZLHw_t4/s320/ph_coaching.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5195615438190610066" />
With each passing day, news on the economic front is more troublesome. That being said, never have there been more potential opportunities for savvy coaches, especially those that have their practices tuned to succeed in a stressed economy. The winners in this challenging environment are most likely to be those coaches with (1) strong platforms, and (2) the right product/service offerings. This article addresses the former.

Your coaching platform is the totality of the visibility and credibility of the brand called YOU. With coaching having been transformed over the last decade from an in-person model to a more global, audio linked model, your national -- if not international -- visibility has become more important than ever. But, here is the key! Recessionary stresses are sure to create an even greater demand for coaching of all kind. But, potential clients will likely be very deliberate and very frugal in choosing a coaching solution. Aided by the internet, potential clients will search far and wide for a coach that fits their needs. And, they will likely use the internet to carefully investigate the credibility of a coach that interests them.

So how does the brand called YOU come across online? As a professional full-time online marketer I have to keep my mind firmly placed on what Google is doing. As much as I try not to because Google has probably driven more people around the bend than Chrysler and Mercedes-Benz put together.

Like any professional marketer, I monitor my numerous keywords on a daily basis - especially my major targeted keyword phrases that bring in the most sales and subscribers. For years now, I have had top rankings in Google for my chosen phrases; they move up and down, but mostly they don't leave the first page.

However, lately I have been noticing a lot of jumping in the top listings. Links out of nowhere are appearing, links being dropped and my own links moving up and down much too quickly for my comfort. Even six months ago the Google main index seemed to be a whole lot more stable than it is now. View Articles

SEO and SEM Shortcuts,

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kXl0zqCQJAM/R_PNajYrItI/AAAAAAAAADA/0DpNgDkrH8U/s320/aseasyas_225x73.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5184713452092596946" />
Search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) are two of the most powerful and profitable things you can do for your online business. As Google celebrates its twelfth birthday there are more Internet shoppers than ever, with more choices than ever. So let's take a few minutes to see how you can beat the competition and dominate Google.

This article has three parts; Stats, Spying and Shortcuts. Each part can be used individually or grouped to provide quicker results. The following information is what the SEO and SEM experts know and gives you the inside scoop on the tools they use.
Part 1; Search Engine Stats: This will give you the latest intel on search engines. This is to help you make informed decisions on how to spend your SEO time and where to spend your SEM money (search engine marketing, which includes pay per click advertising.)

A.) Google gets nearly half of all US searches performed on the Internet so you can bet that's at the top of our SEO to do líst. Here are the exact numbers as provided by the "comScore for searchenginewatch.com" survey:

42.7% - Google
28.0% - Yahoo!
13.2% - MSN
7.60% - AOL
5.90% - ASK
2.60% - All Others Combined

B.) Now that we know how much the search engines are used let's get some inside information to help us plan SEO and SEM strategies. According to the UK based company Neutralize.com, users of Google versus those of MSN are just about polar opposites when it comes to natural versus paid search listings. Here's what their research found:

Google: 72.3% of searchers prefer clicking on the natural listings that SEO helps you get. Only 27.7% prefer using the paid links you might use as part of your SEM plan.

MSN: Only 28.8% of searchers go for the natural listings while 71.2% rely on paid links. This is almost the exact opposite of how Google users work.

That is amazíng information to have! You know right away that your time and effort is better spent on SEO for Google while putting your pay per click dollars into MSN is probably your best bet.
C.) Now for the biggie; return on investment (ROI.) Once again our friends at Neutralize have some great information. The following numbers show the approximate ROI that Website owners got using SEO and SEM (specifically pay per click.) for lead generation and actual sales...

Lead Generation: * 79% SEO * 75% Paid Search (SEM)

Actual Sales: * 78% SEO * 63% Paid Search (SEM)

These are huge returns on investment. In comparison, banners only account for about one third as many leads and sales.

view the articles

What is it that separates the highly successful individual from the average or even successful individual? Why is it that one person seems to achieve extraordinary results on a consistent basis and another, with nearly the same training, hits and misses their accomplishments?
The success technique to which I am referring is visualization. I guarantee that "visualizing your results is the key to realizing your results." Visualizing is one of the most important techniques you will ever learn and one that is utilized by all high performers.
Visualizing is your key to success for two reasons: Your mind thinks in pictures and images; Your unconscious mind drives your behavior.
Your unconscious mind doesn't know the difference between something that is real and something vividly imagined. Whatever picture (goal) you consistently think about will drive your actions to create that exact picture. When you continually see yourself in possession of your goal, your unconscious mind will move you into actions that align with the mental image you hold.
Here's a quick visualization overview to assure your goal achievement: view articles

Effective Coaching for Achieving Positive Results

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kXl0zqCQJAM/R_GC0DYrIsI/AAAAAAAAAC0/j9ot-gQzmYc/s320/maingraphic.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5184068476853756610" />

Article Summary:

Where do you spend your mental time on the field? Focusing on what you don't want to accomplish or manifesting your vision through positive mental thought processes? What we used to call positive mental attitude has been overshadowed by focusing attention (or fear) on what we don't want to have happen. Many coaches mistakenly believe that good coaches spend their energy making small technical corrections or adjustments to improve player or team performance. In fact, those adjustments translate into minimal positive on-field improvement yet have the unintentional side effect of creating player uncertainty and self-doubt. When the needed change can be communicated to the player through positive affirmations done by focusing solely on what the coach wants the player to accomplish, then positive mental imagery or visualization will lead to the desired outcome. And that, after all, is how a coach is judged to be effective or not; by demonstrating positive results with coaching techniques that motivate players.
[VIEW ARTICLE]

Success Coaching Tip - Growing Forward and Upward is Better Than Failing Forward and Downward

Success comes to those who grow forward. In this process, you will fail, but the end result is forward progression. How you grow forward will determine how quickly you master success.

Human beings by their very nature are always growing from the evolving cells that bring new life, to the new daily experiences. Each and every day we are growing. The goal should be to grow forward, to learn something new, to experience something different.

Of course to grow forward means that you must have an action plan. This way your growth is measured and calculated with purpose through planning. The action plan is the structure from which to build upon much like the stakes used to help young saplings to grow upward and forward.

From your action plan, you can begin to construct goals that are pointed to your vision and current mission. Life is now seen through the eyes of possibilities and opportunities instead of limitations and obstacles.

Of course, sometimes you will not achieve your goal in the designated time frame. That is OK as long as you return to your written goal and make the course corrections necessary that will get you closer to your goal to master success whatever that is.

How you handle your success is also part of your forward growth? to read more visit here

FACT TELL STORY SELL- It's All About The Why?

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kXl0zqCQJAM/R-8AnzYrIqI/AAAAAAAAACk/l0zbt6HRCu0/s320/business_success_model.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5183362379935326882" />
Every week I get asked to look at business websites and tell the owners why they're not getting the results they want. Some of these sites are straightforward brochures, others are e-commerce catalogs, and some are those direct-mail-style pitches reminiscent of old mail-order magazine subscription schemes ported-over to the Web. Some have incorporated do-it-yourself audio and video and some even had this media professionally produced; still the results stink. Why?

'The Close' Is Always Found In 'The Why'

Certainly part of the problem stems from a very narrow definition of what a website is: by casting your site in terms of a brochure, catalog, e-commerce-site, blog, or portal, you are falling into the trap of concentrating on 'The What' rather than on 'The Why'.
MikeFrazierlive.com: More Articles, Blog Posts & Interaction
The MFL website has a new look and feel with social interaction features, keyword & category search, RSS feeds and relevant blog posts by some of the Web's top writers.
Visit the new and improved MikeFrazierlive.com today
This focus on 'The What' is exacerbated by some search engine optimization techniques intended to drive traffic, not to brand product, sell services, or convert traffic into customers. Don't get me wrong, traffic is important, but converting that traffic into paying customers is more important. Even the best and brightest search engine optimizers will tell you that their job is to deliver traffic not orders - closing the deal is your job, and anybody who tells you that closing can be done by means of some automatic never-touched-by-human-hands method is just plain nuts. to read more visit here

Unsure Where You're Going in Life? Surrounded by white, you can barely see past the front of the car, much less the end of the road or your destination.

With the headlights only able to provide visibility on the asphalt directly ahead, you resort to moving forward slowly, as you focus on the part of the road you can see.

Almost magically, each time you reach the end of the headlight beam the fog seems to dissipate and you can see just a little bit further down the road.

Does your life ever feel like this?

We all love the times when we know what we want, exactly what steps to take to get there, and are able to just do it. Case closed. Mission accomplished.

Unfortunately life isn't always that clear. Sometimes it's more like driving on a dark, foggy road: you may not be able to see where you're going or how to get there.

Times like this can be frustrating and overwhelming. Whirring around and around in your head trying to figure it out, you struggle. You get stuck or perhaps you take random action so you're at least doing something. to read more visit here

Ten More Compelling Reasons To Hire An Executive Coach

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_kXl0zqCQJAM/R-Z_bjYrIoI/AAAAAAAAACU/Xs_C5DgHPBI/s320/1977978_395410923e_m.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5180968532668260994" />

All of today's true business leaders have either created change, or proactively adapted to change happening around them and their organizations. Follow Your Passion!

We have often heard that money cannot buy happiness but it turns out that happiness can lead to more money. In Getting Rich Your Own Way, psychologist and author Srully Blotnick cites a study that examines the connection between wealth and happiness.

The study consisted of 1,500 young people, divided into two groups. The participants in Group A were pursuing a career chosen for money, and Group B participants chose a career because it was what they loved to do. The number of participants in Group A outnumbered those in Group B by a five to one margin.

Researchers followed both groups for 20 years. At the end of 20 years, 101 participants were millionaires. Only one of the millionaires came from Group A (career choice based on money); the remaining 100 were all from Group B! The 1,250 participants in Group A who chose a career with money as their primary objective produced only one wealthy person. By comparison, 100 of the 250 Group B participants became wealthy by pursuing happiness as their primary objective.

In our "do, be, achieve" society, the role of passion is often overlooked. We often believe that following a passion equates to settling for a lower income level. It is clear that the traditional belief system has flaws as it has yielded an overwhelming percentage of stressed-out, average income earners. You can have it all - happiness and wealth. Here are tips that will help you to reconnect your passion and pursuit of wealth.

Follow your passion. There is nothing wrong with pursuing wealth, but it is much easier when doing something you absolutely love. You invest a lot of time and energy into your business and as such it should be something that is worth trading your life to do. Passion drives you from bed each day - eager to engage in doing what you love.

Passion creates energy. Passion is infectious and energizing. Passion has the power to motivate you in the toughest times. Your passion for your business also creates enthusiasm in your employees and customers. Your employees will catch the spark and work hard to achieve goals and customers will be drawn to your positive energy and enthusiasm for your product or service.

Change your perspective. If you are finding it difficult to be passionate about your business, change your perspective. Rather than focusing on the product or service, examine how the product or service is delivered, the details and administration that make the product or service possible or the impact on the end user. In expanding your viewfinder, you are certain to find an aspect of your business for which you have passion.

Take time out. Your success in business depends on the right strategy and tactics, the right thoughts and attitudes, and competence and persistence. Your attitudes and beliefs will drive your actions, so it is important to align them with your objectives. Take time to visualize what you want to achieve. A quiet time of meditation will help you uncover your passion. Passion creates an emotional connection with your vision and can drive your focus.

Have you ever heard a millionaire declare that they attained riches by doing something that made them miserable? To live your best life and achieve unimaginable success, find your passion. You will then wake up every day with a clear vision and the drive to vigorously pursue your goals.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=John_Assaraf

Effectively Using Google/Yahoo To Get Website Visitors

Overture or now known as Yahoo because of Yahoo’s takeover, was the original inventor of the use of the P4P or Pay for Performance. Overture saw that the internet was fast becoming the easiest and most convenient way to shop, and advertising was going to hit at an all time high because of the many businesses in the arena.

To get a person to go to a site than others, it needs to be very visible. Providing ads that could direct potential consumers and costumers to their site would allow them to have an increase in traffic as well as sales. Yahoo provides a service that can put a site or company’s ad in their sites that can be shown when certain keywords are inputted. to read more visit here

Small Business Marketing - Timeliness Pays Off

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kXl0zqCQJAM/R9xz4Zd7h6I/AAAAAAAAAB8/ZhMcsc50Jck/s320/ATT907128%5B1%5D.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5178141084315518882" />
Looking for fresh marketing ideas that will draw customers' attention like the aroma of homemade cinnamon rolls? It had filled fifteen slots by March 10, and an institute administrator said he anticipated filling all 24 slots. A sports radio ad promoted a "patient recovery kit" comprising a bundle of sports magazines, a free pizza delivery coupon and a therapeutic bag of frozen peas. Genius.

Consider the time you spend reading the Sunday paper, watching the 11 o'clock news or surfing Internet news sites to be market research, and twist interesting stories into marketing angles. You don't have to wait for major national events or professional sports tournaments for the chance to promote your business. To read more visit here

Peak Performance - The Top of Your Game

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_kXl0zqCQJAM/R9WDjJd7h5I/AAAAAAAAAB0/oMQYJ6Vhd2M/s320/1977978_395410923e_m.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5176187986592368530" />

Peak Performance. It means being at the top of your game, feeling supremely confident, feeling like everything you do is effortless and acheives its goal, feeling resilient and detached from the outcome, being in the flow, being in the zone, feeling relaxed, feeling happy and joyful, having a sense of clarity and certainty about everything that you do, feeling a sense of fullness in your life, indeed feeling fulfilled.

How much of your time do you spend in this state? Probably not as much as you would like. In informal surveys I have conducted over the last several years I have found that only 10 percent of people I interviewed experienced this state about 30 percent of the time. The rest, on average could only claim to having had this experience less than 10 percent of the time on average. With these figures it becomes clear that most of us are missing out on tapping into our full potential.

To read more visit here
